Tejas Kothari: Music has always been a part of my life
Tejas expresses his gratitude towards music while stating “Music has always been a part of my life, thanks to my family’s musical background. Despite a few challenges, I continued singing because I was passionate about it, performing at around three to four shows a day.”
Singer Tejas Kothari, who is known for his band V4 Once More, says that he has always been surrounded with music since his childhood.
“Born and brought up in Mumbai, my native place is Bhavnagar, Gujarat. My father, grandmother, uncle, siblings and cousin all used to sing professionally. I grew up seeing my father sing - sometimes at his friend’s clubs and at times I was his only audience at home. My father has been my inspiration. Watching him perform with utmost passion built the interest in me. That's how my journey began. Initially I used to sing at home just for fun but later around the age of 12, I decided to become a professional singer and undertook vocal training from Nitin Sampat and Hriday Merchant”, he mentions.
He further adds, “My journey started around the age of 15. There was an audition at Close up Antakshari and I was selected for my performance on the song ‘तुम तो ठहरे परदेसी’. When I sang my first song, people loved it and it boosted my confidence to move further in this profession. Subsequently I won many inter-college singing competitions.
Unfortunately, in 2009, my father passed away due to a heart attack. I stopped participating in competitions since the family responsibilities fell on my shoulders. I started doing freelance shows, and had more than a 1000 audience in my first live performance.”

Talking about his band V4 Once More, he mentions, “We formed a musical band in 2016 and started taking more initiatives. Realising the competition in this industry, we decided to do something more than just singing. We began choreographing each song and performed them in a synchronised way in all our live shows. From time to time, we also keep upgrading medleys and include the latest tracks and trends of the music industry. Our passion for music kept us going and it paved the way for many new opportunities.
As we grew, we appointed Brijesh Solanki as our planner and strategist who not only helped us with creative marketing strategies but also brought the idea of making our original song. The thought was exciting as it would raise the benchmark of V4 Once More and help us get closer to the Bollywood industry.
When asked about V4 Once More’s first original friendship anthem, Tejas says, “The upcoming friendship song is special because it represents not only our journey but any friends group around us. It showcases the honest relationship between true friends. The song is so happening that I am sure every single person will be able to relate the lyrics.
I want to emphasize how grateful I am for the support of my family and friends in my musical journey. Their belief in me has been instrumental in my growth and success. We are excited to share our music with the world and we are sure it will resonate with everyone who listens to it.”
